This 14k yellow gold pointer ring has a fierce look due to the two diamond 'spikes' that flank the central ruby. Its design optically enhances the finger, which makes it a very flattering shape to wear.

The ring is centered by a cushion-cut, natural ruby of circa 0.56 carats. The ruby is flanked by eight old mine-cut diamonds, with an estimated combined weight of circa 0.6.8 carats.

The old-mine cut is the predecessor to the modern round brilliant-cut. From the early 18th century to the late 19th century, the old-mine cut was one of the most common diamond cuts used in jewellery. It has up to 58 facets and different proportions from the modern round brilliant cut: it typically has a smaller table, larger culet, and higher crown. It also has shorter lower-half facets and a girdle that is very thin in places. As a result, an old mine-cut diamond has a very distinctive look and a very unique character.
